Thanh Toan Bridge
  • Thanh Toan Bridge is about seven kilometers east of Hue and was constructed during the reign of Emperor Le Hien Tong (1740 to 1786). The bridge was the initiative of the wife of a mandarin of Emperor Le Hien Tong's court, Tran This Dao. Tran was a local from the district. In 1925 Emperor Khai Dinh gave her a posthumous title and organized the villagers to construct an alter on the bridge in her memory. The bridge you see today was restored by the Cultural Ministry in 1991.
